Our Mission
We are an organization dedicated to expanding the musical attributes of children in the JAZZ CULTURE. Our main purpose is to ensure that JAZZ STAYS ALIVE, with the youth of our community.
Our Goals
The foundation awards children between 10 and 18 years old monetary scholarships to develop and enhance their musical talents. This may take the form of providing funds for instruction as well as for new and used musical instruments.
Support Our Cause
By giving to the DONALD WASHINGTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION, you will help us provide assistance to children in our community and outlying areas. Your tax-deductible donation will help these aspiring performers pursue their hopes and dreams in JAZZ music .
Donated Instruments
Musical Instruments Gift Program
Musical instruments donated to the Donald Washington Memorial Scholarship Foundation are gifted to aspiring young musicians who may not have the means to purchase new ones. Previously donated instruments that are available now include a guitar given by John Lemon, two flutes, and a saxophone. If you would like to share gently used or refurbished instruments with our beneficiaries, please contact us at DWMSFoundation@gmail.com or by phone, 856-310-1192.
